💛 Sri Lanka has been through a heartbreaking week.
Floods and landslides in the highlands have caused severe damage to roads, railways, and homes. And far too many lives have been lost. Our thoughts are with everyone affected.
Even in difficult times, travel continues.
And for those of you planning to visit Sri Lanka this December, your trip will actually have a positive impact.
Many families rely on tourism; in restaurants, hotels, local shops, and transport services. Money spent locally brings jobs, security, and hope to communities 😊👍
🌴 The south coast remains safe and fully operational.
We have sunshine, calm beaches, and normal transport to and from the airport.
Here in Hikkaduwa, we have been incredibly lucky 🙏 and were hardly affected by the events in the highlands.
In the coming weeks, you can expect typical December weather: sunny days, calm waves, and occasional evening showers – just like normal.
